Stuff about or with my froggy family.

Recent Finish

I finished this little turkey for Thanksgiving. I need to iron and frame him still.

I changed the little heart thing from the called for 352 to 350 with a single strand of 352 stitched in sporadically.

I messed up on the left leaf but didn't find out till I was doing the vein. I debated for all of five seconds on wheither or not to frog the whole leaf or just leave it. I chose to just leave it as you can see.

Current WIP's

Here are three of my WIP's (work in progress). I'm only posting three of them because the other three haven't been touched in months or years in the case of one.

Rainbow Fractal
Charted by A Cross Stitch Fantasy. I am planning on turning it into a throw pillow when it's finally done. The confetti stitches ore driving me insane. I just dug it out to put it in the project bag I made. Everything but the PAKO needle organizer fit in it so that was a good thing.

I found out that the pattern pages from the SAL were different from the pages in the pattern I purchased. So I have to start back on page one. I hope I still have enough fabric (Charles Craft 16ct aida)

 Woodland Sampler
This is my Frosted Pumpkin. I've been doing it like it was released in 2013 as a monthly mystery SAL. I still have to figure out how to turn the 3 into a 6 for the year on the banner in the last panel. Done on Loops & Threads (Michael's Brand) 14ct natural aida ice dyed by me.

Panda
I found this guy here at Ann's Cross-Stitch Patterns. I went looking for a panda to stitch for my youngest a while back and found this site. He is obsessed with them now. Stitched on MCG Oatmeal 14ct aida.

Bowdabra...

I made this really pretty bow with my new toy. It is so easy to use. I need to start taking during photos or wait till a child is home to force into child labor by taking the the afor mentioned during pictures when I do these things.

This bow was made to fill the large empty space on the autumn wall hanger I got a couple years ago at one of the dollar stores near me. I hand made on last season but it wouldn't stay in the shape I wanted let alone in the spot I wanted in the hanger. So all in all this bow was the instigator into the purchase of the Bowdabra in the first place.

The two spools of ribbon are the new ones I bought at Michael's just for this bow. I got the Bowdabra there as well with a 40% off coupon. Frugal me.

I reused the dollar store leaf ribbon I tried to use last season along with the two new ribbons I baught this summer.

It came out a bit bigger than I intended but still fills the space just right.

Pond Stitching

This is were I will post about anything cross stitch related. Be it WIP's to finishes, products I can or can't live without, fabrics I dye (I think I'm obsessed now), and things I make for stitching.

Sewing Things for Cross Stitch

I think I'm liking sewing almost as much as I enjoy cross stitching. Or maybe it's just sewing things for my cross stitch. Although I'm about to start a project for my mom for her crochet hooks. That might be a good place to start this blog page off.

Sewing Adventures

This will be my adventures in sewing on my machine. I have already broken three needles and still trying to figure out how I bent a fourth one almost in half. I've had my Brother sewing machine for less than a year and have made several projects with it.

Bowdabra!

This is going to be my first time using my new Bowdabra. Lets see if I need to get the ruler thingy that goes with it.

Crafting in the Pond

Anything randomly crafty will go here. It might be things I create on my own or things created with my teenagers or my nieces when they get a bit older. Maybe something will be posted from my sister in her adventures in crafting with a 6 year old and one year old.

Recipes From the Pond

I will post my recipes and cooking adventures here sometime in the future. Maybe a good thread will be me teaching our youngest son how to cook as he put it "everything yummy thing I make."
